Dear Dr. Matto,
Thank you for this information. It is indeed sad that such a wonderful outreach has been polluted by its President. In Christ, Pastor D A Waite

To All,
It looks like Family Radio is up for dissolution. So what was the fruit of Campingism and all the date setting? The destruction of what could have been a very good ministry. Now we can rejoice that more rock and roll stations will go up in different areas of the country.

I hardly know where to start. I said God would judge Family Radio and now that is happening. It is worse than I expected.
Here's a rundown of what is happening. First, after May 21 we had several people resign. Out of seven regional managers, two of them quit, plus one engineer. Since then another engineer has also quit.
Second, a bunch of people in the International Department were put on paid leave after May 21. Later they were laid off. A bunch of people who weren't laid off had their hours cut and given more work at the same time. Bricks without straw (Exodus 5), anyone?
Third, something no one could have predicted - Mr. Camping's stoke. There was no more work at the TV studio after Open Forum stopped live programs. Every single part timer and one full timer were laid off. My understanding is that only three people remain at the TV station.
Fourth, stations will be sold. The first to go will be WKDN (Camden, NJ) and WFSI (Annapolis, MD). They will be auctioned on June 30, and only non-religious broadcasters are allowed to bid. Eventually, WFME (Newark, NJ) will also be sold.
Fifth, Judi Rathborn's post is making the rounds. It addresses the future of Open Forum and the Family Radio Bible Study. In part it reads,
Starting with the Open Forum program tonight [June 20], and for the next three weeks, there will be reruns of the O.F. segments Mr. Camping hosted after May 21 through June 9th, the evening he suffered his stroke. When those programs are completed, there are plans to use that 1 1/2 hr. with the following: 1/2 hour will be teaching by Gunther von Harringa, Sr. 3 nights a week, and Tom Evans for the other 2 nights. There will also be a special 1/2 hour of music, and the 1/2 hour airing of the Family Bible Reading Fellowship.
After the Ruth study is completed on the Family Bible Study with Harold Camping, we are fortunate to have Chris McCann to give the Bible studies. This should happen sometime in August.
I am thankful for one thing, and that is that 90 minutes of heresy a night will be replaced by only 30, as music and the Bible Reading Fellowship are good program choices.
Then just today I got news that Mr. Camping was moved to a nursing facility. It appears that the stroke was worse than any of us knew. He has survived so many health scares - things that would have killed most men his age - but this may be it. A nursing home does not bode well for recovery.
Once again, I urge everyone to pray for Family Radio - the ministry as a whole, those who have been laid off or resigned, and those of us who still work here. Pray for God's mercy and to turn the hearts of the Board of Directors to Him and His truth. Prayer changes things. Perhaps God will have mercy. I have no doubt that what we are experiencing is judgment, and my constant prayer is "In wrath, remember mercy."
